nobody cares about who gets the credit."

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Rotary Contact: Melissa Mears
Our 17th year of participation! We host both an outbound and an inbound student every year.
President Melissa Mears has a passion for the Youth Exchange Program. By giving a student the opportunity to expand their cultural horizons, we give them the opportunity to positively influence the lives of others in their community. The Youth Exchange Program has allowed our members to reach out beyond the borders of our club membership to bring Youth Exchange to friends and family of Rotary perpetuating and educating our community about the program and the priceless benefits its brings to our world.

Camp Royal
Rotary Contact: Brett Wheeler
Camp Royal is a week-long leadership camping trip that is held during the summer break near Fresno. The club interviews, chooses and sponsors 2 boys and 2 girls from Alisal High School each year. Club members also serve a special dinner at camp each summer. The participating students make a presentation at one of our breakfast meetings.
ROTARY JOB SHADOWING PROGRAM
Rotary/Alisal Contact: Marc B. Rosen
In May, club members host a student for half a day at their place of business, followed by evaluation luncheon sponsored by the club. Between 30 and 40 Alisal students participate in this event. This is an on-going event that Steinbeck Rotary makes a priority each and every year.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Rotary/Alisal Contact: Marc B. Rosen
Steinbeck Rotary and the Wright Family co-sponsor 2 or 3 $500 scholarships for Alisal seniors who have overcome a significant obstacle and are now achieving success. Students complete an essay describing their obstacle and how they have overcome it, provide two letters of recommendation, and are interviewed by Marc Rosen and two Rotarians. Over $20,000 in scholarships has been awarded to Alisal students.
The Wilbur and Maxine Stevens Scholarship is generally presented by Joe Robello (Rotarian) to a student who plans to attend Hartnell College. It is a $500 renewable scholarship for up to 2 years. Students submit an essay describing their career goals. They are then selected by the scholarship committee at Alisal that includes Joe Robello and Marc Rosen, as well as other Alisal staff members.
FUNDRAISING
The club will, at times, request students to volunteer with fundraising events. Planned events are as follows:
